Celebrate the 142nd Kentucky Derby, “the most exciting two minutes in sports”, as NOCO Unify (formerly NOCO 20/30) brings Churchill Downs to Northern Colorado at the 7th annual Bank of Colorado Down & Derby Party, May 7, 2016 from 2p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Island at Water Valley. The event benefits charities serving youth in Northern Colorado. This is a 21 and over event. A special thanks to Hartford Homes and University Colorado Health for co-hosting this event.
The Down & Derby Party celebrates all the pageantry and excitement of the Kentucky Derby. It just happens to do it Colorado-style. A live-feed of the actual race brings the action to you from the world’s most exciting two minutes in sports! Event proceeds go to benefit NOCO Unify. This year their primary beneficiaries are: ChildSafe, Hearts & Horses, Food Bank For Larimer County and Partners Mentoring Youth. This is a 21 and over event.
Tickets to this must-attend event of the season include the tastiest of Southern fare, beverages, bourbon tasting, and, of course, the traditional Mint Julep. Tickets for the Run for the Roses Raffle, available for purchase at the event, make you eligible to win a variety of tremendous prize packages, including a trip to Louisville for the 2017 Kentucky Derby. Sorry, Folks. The Down & Derby Party 2016 is SOLD OUT!
We’d like to encourage you to wear your best Derby duds. Don’t know what those are? Take a look at the pictures. Of course we’ll take you if you don’t want to get all Derby dudded-up, but give it a try. And, women, yes, hats are a critical fashion statement.
You bet…We’d be glad to have you! Or, if you’re interested in being a bigger piece of the puzzle, here is the NoCo Unify 2016 Sponsor kit.
Of course, no Kentucky Derby event could be complete without a tribute to proudly worn, traditional, ostentatious headwear. The Best Hat Contest will honor the finest chapeau donned at the party – the bigger and more flamboyant, the better. And, we thank our friends at LPR Construction for proudly sponsoring this event. It’s good to know the guys in hard hats have such a soft heart! In need of a great hat? Try NOCO’s own Cynthia Lee, winner of several official Kentucky Derby hat contests.
Well, since it is a fundraiser for NOCO Unify, there’s great ways for you to help the children. We’ll have raffle tickets for a drawing to the 2017 Kentucky Derby to see it live. There’s an auction for you to bid on great prizes. We are here to raise much needed funds for underprivileged kids in NOCO.
There’s a huge parking lot at the venue.
Yes! Check out all our transportation options here.
Tickets for the 2016 Down & Derby Party are SOLD OUT!
The event is a “rain or shine” event and we made every attempt to run the event and did conduct the event for a period of time until it was deemed unsafe for patrons. We appreciate your support of NOCO Unify and the children of Northern Colorado. The outreach and support of our decision to cancel during the event was been tremendous. Thank you NOCO!
