2018 RBC Wealth Management’s

MAY 5, 2018

Celebrate the 144th Kentucky Derby, “the most exciting two minutes in sports,” as NOCO Unify brings Churchill Downs to Northern Colorado at RBC Wealth Management’s 9th annual Down & Derby Party, May 5, 2018 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at The Big Red Barn in Highland Meadows. What is the Down & Derby Party?

The Down & Derby Party celebrates all the pageantry and excitement of the Kentucky Derby. It just happens to do it Colorado style. A live feed of the actual race brings the action to you from the world’s most exciting two minutes in sports! Event proceeds go to benefit NOCO Unify. This year’s primary beneficiaries are: Respite Care, Inc., I Have A Dream Foundation, Life Stories Child & Family Advocacy and The Matthews House. This is a 21-and-over event.

What do I wear?

We’d like to encourage you to wear your best Derby duds. Don’t know what those are? Take a look at the pictures. Of course we’ll take you if you don’t want to get all Derby-dudded up, but give it a try. And, for women, yes, hats are a critical fashion statement.

What's the Hashtag?

I’d like to do more. Can I sponsor the Event?

You bet…We’d be glad to have you! Or, if you’re interested in being a bigger piece of the puzzle, here is the NoCo Unify 2018 Sponsor kit.

What’s the LPR Construction Hat Contest?

Of course, no Kentucky Derby event could be complete without a tribute to proudly worn, traditional, ostentatious headwear. The Best Hat Contest will honor the finest chapeau donned at the party – the bigger and more flamboyant, the better.  And, we thank our friends at LPR Construction for proudly sponsoring this event.  It’s good to know the guys in hard hats have such a soft heart!  In need of a great hat?  Try NOCO’s own Cynthia Lee, winner of several official Kentucky Derby hat contests.

What else should I know?

Well, since it is a fundraiser for NOCO Unify, there are great ways for you to help the children. We’ll have raffle tickets for a drawing to the 2019 Kentucky Derby to see it live. There’s an auction for you to bid on great prizes. We are here to raise much-needed funds for underprivileged kids in Northern Colorado.  We return to our new favorite location  – The Big Red Barn at Highland Meadows.

Where do I park?

There is valet parking at the event and we will have shuttles as well.

Do you provide transportation?

Thanks to NOCO Party Bus we will have two pick-up/drop-off locations.  Buses are first-come, first-served.  Please check schedules.
